Junkyard Revenge | Upcycled Products

"One man's trash is another man's treasure."

Junkyard Revenge is an upcycling project that explores the reuse of unwanted items. The lengthening of the life cycle of an object becomes a form of resistance against planned obsolescence.
#1: Tube Lamp
Made from scrap wood found in communal woodshop, paper tubes and plastic spools from Resources for Rhode Island Education (RRIE). The paper tube slides up and down spool to regulate brightness.
#2: Spool Stationery Case / Holder
Made from plastic spool and rubber string from RRIE. The spool has holes which allow dust that would otherwise accumulate in pencil cases to fall out.
#3: Circle Aid
Made from a fan found in a projection TV that was given away for free on craigslist. The device can be used to cut and draw perfect circles, sharpen pencils when sandpaper is attached and create spinning drawings.
#4: Speaker Pinhole Glasses
Made from speaker grills of the above-mentioned projection TV. It works like any other pinhole glasses.
