Objective
Design an identity and takeout package for the Asian food truck AZN. The brand should reflect the environmentally friendly nature of the company since it uses solar panels and natural gas. 

Development
I took the standard Asian takeout box and added a bold “modern art” influenced brand utilizing a chunky typeface and the dot from the Japanese flag to keep the Asian aspect of the company in mind. To symbolize the environmentally friendliness of AZN, I used the color green because of its abundance in nature. AZN’s audience is largely on-the-go consumers and since travelers are always on the go, I used the luggage tag idea as an indicator of what the takeout box contents are.
Competition
Across the board, Asian establishments have the same takeout boxes. They all are plain white with red illustration and Asian architecture or characters. Another common theme is flat color with no other attributes, such as the brown box below. Panda Express puts their brand emblem on the box, but does not utilize the box in any other way than to show their brand and slogan.
Inspiration
My inspiration for AZN was to take clean branding and modern art, then combine that with a unique feature: the luggage tag. I found the tag to be a great way to indicate the food within the takeout box as well as define other information like the expiration date and the name of the food's owner.
Color
I chose to stick with three colors for the AZN branding, one being a signature green and the other two being a simple black and white. I wanted the focus to be the brand itself and the green to be a highlight to emphasize the environmentally consciousness of the business. If other colors were added, it would distract from that.
Brand
I played with three Asian characteristics: the ying-yang, the star from the Chinese flag and the dot from the Japanese flag. I also used san-serif typefaces to give a clean and modern look to the brand.
For the final brand, I went with a bold san serif typeface (Myriad Pro), the green dot and a green Z to balance the name with the dot. By choosing these options, it created a strong brand that could be manipulated, yet still recognizable.
