We often have a hard time opening our letters. It is a frustrating experience when we eventually tear apart the letter into little pieces. Also, the existing designs of the letter openers aren't fully optimized for the safety. Sharp edges and pointy ends are especially dangerous to little kids.
To resolve both functionality and safety issues, I tackled from a variety of perspectives; the position of our hands in relation to the letter and the product, the relationship between the letter and the product, and the overall process of opening the letter.
