This series of time-lapses was created on the same trail, as a part of the same process of that to make Mesa View Over Time. As that piece was very much reliant on the physical conditions of the desert environment around me, there were days where it was impossible to work on the main scene. One of these days, after abandoning my post in frustration at the growing winds, I noticed two sets of growing thunder clouds that turned out to be the start of the monsoons. Rather than fully retreating, I stayed on my site and took my first cloud time-lapse, and it soon grew into an obsession.

As described in my statement for Mesa View Over Time, it is a part of the same desire to make my artistic process (of exploring, observing, existing in landscape) intentional, enjoyable, and a part of the art itself. This particular series is however what one might call a happy accident, a result of being open to diverging from the plan.
