Porcelain Poppies

For my Slip-cast Ceramic Object Class in the Fall, I crafted over sixty porcelain poppies for a wearable installation. I wanted to make one of the frailest flowers, poppies, out of delicate porcelain. The headdress and scarf are inspired by Alphonse Mucha's impossible decor on his women.

I walked around Providence for 2+ hours wearing this ensemble, seeing how people reacted to seeing me in this way. It was an installation that I could not walk away from, it was attached to me the whole time.
