For ADN 111 (2D Design) we were tasked with exploring overlapping colors, and shifts in color, in hue, and from geometric forms to organic ones. This was to be done in a five painting series, and I chose to approach the project differently than most people in class. Deciding to keep all of my forms geometric throughout, and visually imply organic forms by the end, I designed a system to determine how the background was going change in relation to the subject and its pieces. I carefully chose the color changes so that they would work in unison, and that by the time the edges of the pieces lined up with the background, the similar colors implied curved, organic, edges.
