Closet Door Table
Product Design, Sustainability
Experiment
In the summer of 2005, we were in need of a meeting/party table for our new space. Since we were doing renovations in other areas of the space that included getting rid of some old closets, we decided to design a flexible table that could take advantage of materials that would have otherwise been thrown out.
We created the chalkboard table out of 4 recycled closet doors, 3 sets of hinges, and 4 wooden pegs, allowing the table to morph from a large square, to a more traditional sized rectangle for smaller dinners, meetings or parties, and even go vertical to create a brainstorming surface.
