I've always been fascinated by doors, entryways, and structural facades from different places around the world. Here, I focused on using the lanscape of the body to mimick that of a door, or an entryway that would catalyze conversation. And rather than judging an entryway by its traditional techniques, detailed and ornamented history, it would be void of all decorative functions and only live in line and form. Here are a series of my Door Necklaces formed out of copper and steel.
Before hinges were soldered.
Hinges, and patina application.
Despite the position of the hinges, the necklaces would naturally lay on each body type differently, accenting and making note of curvatures on the body, posture, and negative space created.
