Step 1 - I created my background layer by selecting a new document 300pt by 300pt in Adobe Illustrator. Firstly, I changed the Stroke Weight to 6pt and selected the Line Segment Tool to create a 1 inch long vertical line. After that, I selected the Rectangle Tool to create a rectangle 0.25 inches by 0.25 inches. Then, I deleted one side of the rectangle by selecting the rectangle with Direct Selection Tool. By using these two shapes I created different snowflake designs.
Step 2 - Once I have one leg of snowflake arm available to me, I used the Rotate tool to make a copy of my design in 45 or 60 degree angles so that I can duplicate the snowflake arm in 360 degree to complete my snowflake. I rotate the snowflake leg by using Object> Transform> Transform Again or used Command D in the keyboard shortcut.
Step 3 - Finally, I imported the snowflake image I created in Illustrator into Photoshop and added the background color.
