The conception of this installation project was to develop a parametric surface using the site elements on the design as inputs in order to project a type of surfacing that acquires data from the surroundings, the objective was to create a Gaudi’s catenary type of object, generating different scales of reverberation on the surfacing by designing with mathematics.
Mathematical Surface design:
Digital Fabrication:
Assembly:
Instead of designing and taking the object columns as a figure in itself the column comes motivated by the relationships between the points and the surface ceiling grid, the figuration of the column comes from mathematics as an emergent figure from the conditions of the surface volume.
Challenging the condition of design, reversing this process in a post deterministic manner the result is derived from a multiple interaction between diverse interfaces without modeling a preconceived design.
