Storyboarding: "Employees Take Note"

We live in a world in which people readily share a large portion of their personal lives through social media. We share our food, our feelings, our daily tasks and frustrations with one another without a thought. What if some of our information and data were taken from us by force? What if we didn't have a choice in the matter?

This project is a conceptual piece that breaches our perception of acceptable use of information. This piece is a necklace that collects medical data from our blood in order to record long term patterns in our blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels, blood sugar levels, and more. If our employers had access to our medical records, they could potentially make workplace decisions based off of those records that influence our workday or even our employment status.

The original concept was information collection for efficiency and convenience. If everyone was informed about the lives and tasks of others, we wouldn't even have to call for a taxi, or push a button on the elevator at work. Our technologies could collect our information and make it so we would have to exert as little effort as possible to get through the day.

The piece evolved to one that functioned solely within the workplace, with a very specific set of information used for efficiency, our medical data. This neck cuff is designed to collect this information and distribute it to employers for their use.
