"Sitting Pretty" is a commercial photography project dealing with the subject of women and sexuality in society. These photos comment on the relationship between expectation and reality of women. Where media presents this ideal for women to be a “finished product”, showcasing themselves with sexuality and confidence, the reality of being a woman often isn’t sexy.

Through incorporating objects both biologically and societally linked to being a women – in sex and gender – the commonplace of womanhood is showcased with the hyper sexuality of the posing. Their gestures and direct glances play devil’s advocate to the expected media portrayal of female sexuality, and create power and mystique in the products.
