The CF Pavillion was inspired by the structural pattern found in the skin of a Cowfish when looked under a microscope. The idea was to study the conversion of a 2Dimensional skin patterns into a 3Dimentional architectural structure.
 
The fish’s capacity to change color and adapt to its environmental circumstances led to the investigation of the skin for its structural form and its chromatic abilities as a membrane. Like other animals, skin has the ability to change color rapidly, this physiological color change is called Metachrosis. Chromatophores in the cells change as a reaction to reflected light, and they become more dispersed or concentrated depending on their reaction to light in order to change the pigment.
This visual density led to an understanding of points located strategically in a 3 dimensional space in order to create a human scaled structure. The fish’s skin under a microscope has a structure similar to a vornoi diagram, which in combination with the positioned points in space, developed the structural from for the pavilion.
 
The inside space is partially enclosed by a membrane. The division of interior-exterior is not easily recognized because, and this intention was generated based on the animal’s camouflaging capacity. It is so, that the design is not only influenced by the physical description of the pattern, but its purpose as well.
