During the first semester of my junior year in apparel, we were asked to create garements using only knit fabrics.
These looks (Looks 5,6 and 10) are taken from my All About Mĭ collection which was inspired by the fluidity and layered imagery of the rice fields behind of my grandfather’s house, as well as the rich colors used in traditional Chinese garments such as the qi pao.
Look 5 is completely machine knit using a punch cards

Look 10 is my cut and sew garment which also has machine knit applique pieces on the t-shirt top as well as machine knit pockets.

Look 6 is a mix of cut and sew and machine knitting. The straps, the cords of reds and greys and the patterned panel in front are all machine knit.
