The Sea Cows | Green-Go short animation contest winner

Cow digestion, Methane and Global warming

In the past years the amount of methane gas has increased and become the second largest contributor to global warming. Methane is emitted by natural sources such as cows, sheep, goats and human activities.

"Cows contribute 3 percent of Britain's overall greenhouse gas emissions and 25 to 30 percent of its methane."

The project is created for a short film contest about global warming and climate change.  The animation represent an image of a post-Apocalyptic world, the waters of the flood covered the Earth, while agriculture and cattle-farming became underwater farming.  In this world, the Sea Cows are widely bred in the Atlantic Ocean and the slaughterhouse is a fishing boat.  (UPDATE: Climate Change category winner  http://greengofest.eu/hu/)

Methane in the ocean is methane hydrate and it is produced by microbies, but in the atmosphere it  is a greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide but the negative effect on the climate is 23 times higher than the effect of carbon dioxide.

One of the possible way to reduce global warming is to
EATING LESS MEAT.
