In May 2012 I was commissioned to compose a piece of music as part of Plymouth's 'The World at your Feet' dance event in which over 30 dance companies came together to create dance around the themes of immigration and diversity.
The Dance company I worked with, Rhythm India wanted me to compose a piece of music built around the story of people migrating from India to the United Kingdom. For this project I worked closely with Vinitha Rajkumar (the company's director and choreographer) to create a a narrative driven piece that combined both elements of Eastern and western music through varied instrumentation and Indian musical rhythmic patterns.
