Web Design
Design and Development
The process of creating a web site can take on a couple of different workflows depending on the scope of the project and the client's budget. In the simplest scenario, I'll work with a client to recommend a pre-built theme that can be then customized with the client's own branding. This provides a cost-effective and quick solution that also allows the client to manage their own updates through a content management system. This is generally suited to a smaller business.

For larger corporate clients or where a totally custom solution is required to incorporate unique design and functionality, I offer a higher level of service that is divided into two stages.

The first stage, or design stage, includes three steps: 1) site planning to determine the number of pages and hierarchy 2) creating a working wireframe prototype for layout and functionality approval, and 3) creating static mockups or renderings of what various types of pages within the site will look like. The prototype acts like a blueprint and the rendering fleshes out the prototype to show the client what the final site will look like. Once the design stage is approved, the second, or development stage can start.

Working with a developer allows me to concentrate on the layout and branding and the developer to concentrate on the back end or functional aspects of the site. This ensures a totally unique site built with clean code that loads quickly and is search engine optimized. As with the first scenario, the site is built on a suitable CMS allowing the client to make their own updates. Training for the CMS is also provided.
