A set of brightly coloured plaster cones.

These objects were created by pouring pigmented reinforced plaster into a cardboard cone, then allowing it to set hard and smashing it into small fragments with a hammer. The resultant pieces are added to a new plaster mix of a different, contrasting colour, and the process is repeated. The cone is then cut at an angle and the exposed face polished, contrasting the cone's uniform exterior with the chaotically conglomerate interior. Some cones contain several smashing sessions: each colour represents a smashing cycle, therefore the more colours the more smashing cycles.
