BAM ornate typography experiment

Here is an idea using pens to create the decorative ornate swirls. I have also tried to include patterns from the art of Ebru Marbling, which has it origins form Turkey. This technique is basically painting with water to create decorative patterns they mainly create flowers within the work. The materials used are all made from natural ingredients such as pure pigment. There is some debate to when and who invented the process, however is widely known to have begun in Japan with the name Suminagashi Japanese marbling. There work is not as decorative or colorful it mainly black and white however still very playful and some amazing patterns. If any one works with these process please feel free to share your work with me, + any ideas to help develop my typography experiments.
here is how the design was developed within my sketch book.
Firstly I sketched some ideas out for the typography I usedsawdust font as the initial starting point and tweaked the design to be moreornate.
After developing the typeface I finally got to the stage where I was happy with the typography and here is the finalstage.
These three images above show the initial sketches of theornate marbling design typography
This is the marbling I produced myself and used asinspiration for the swirls surrounding the typeface. I created this using oilpaints mixed with linseed oil and vinegar then mixed in water.
The final sketch using biro and fine liner tip pens.
The design scanned on to the computer then using Photoshopand illustrator to refine the final design, which makes it more web friendly
