The client, GonzagArredi produces equipment and furnitures for kids in infant toddlers, kindergartens, schools, libraries, day care, and Montessori educational materials.

According to the brief, we had to propose new furniture designs for kindergartens. Material selection was limited to wood and textiles.

During the design process we had to consider parameters like usability, ergonomics, constructional simplicity, environmental sustainability, low environmental impact and style.

Our final concept is a flexible modular divider system composed of modules sized 125cm X 125cm. The modules are narrow enough to fit even smaller spaces, and tall enough to function as a space divider while kindergartners can see over them to attend children.

The base of a module is 50x50 cm to keep the center of gravity low, thus the module is properly stable and won't turn over even when somebody lean against over bump into it.

'Eco-Fi' felt made of 100% recycyled PET bottles. Soft, safe, washable, durable.
