Climb It is an interactive web based system for mapping rock climbing routes. It is designed to help beginner rock climbers tackle difficult routes. This example is of an indoor rock climbing wall, but the system can easily be applied to outdoor routes, where the holds are less obvious.
On the Climb It website, the user is presented with a rock climbing route. There are multiple overlays that can be enabled and disabled by the user.
One of the overlays is an animated guide for hand and foot placement. The upper right corner of the square represents the right hand, the bottom left corner represents the left foot, and so on.
Participating rock climbing gyms will have QR codes at the beginning of climbing routes that Climb It has mapped. When someone scans the code it leads them to the Climb It guide for that particular route.
