Rationalism; functional style of construction stripped of applied decoration, whereby the intrinsic characteristics of a building were brought to the forefront of it’s design, allowing for a better understanding of the true beauty of the structure.
Similarities can be found between this modernist european architecture style and the style of Italy’s Costume National; simple lines, minimalism and touches of color as decoration, and a strong emphasis on the structure of the pieces, build a contemporary look that can be define as edgy chic. Both defining aestethics that take hints from the past but always looking to the future, represent each in their own field a timeless style; rationalism that can be traced to our present days.
