This sculpture is based off of the essence of popcorn, particularly, popcorn's movement through space as it evolves from kernel to edible form. If popcorn were allowed to freely pop through air, it could launch as high as three feet. Finding this interesting, I decided to map the trajectory of the popcorn through space using a series of triangles. As this is an explosive process, the red paint symbolizes the energy of the kernel.
