These are the 3D explorations of fabric construction so as to make products for the same. The inspiration being the nests of wasps and hornets, the shapes explored were hexagonal and different materials and techniques were used so as to create the same textures.

Ply Split Braiding technique explored to get hexagonal forms.
Product: Cup holder for the ceramic cups that heats up when hot bevarages are poured into them. This product idea comes from the basic need of the inspiration i.e. nests, that are supposed to contain.

This technique was explored using different materials i.e. cotton chords, water hyacinth to get a stable 3D hexagonal form.
The same technique in felt.
Product: Lamp Shade.
Sewing technique used on felt strips to create a collapsable structure that would show hexagonal forms on opening up.
Final Product: UG Shelf. Easy to take along and help keep your small clothes organized.
