Cheyenne & Arapaho: Tools & Weapons Book is our group project in Advanced Graphic Design class. We aim to create a book providing information about Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes in Oklahoma, which is mainly about native american tools and weapons. In this book, besides designing the cover, we also illustrate the tools and weapons, as well as provide information about them, such as how they are made and used in daily life, or how they have changed during different periods of time. In addition to that, the book also carries few facts about both tribes.
The design is inspired from researches of Cheyenne and Arapaho colors and symbols. Since the target audiences we aim for are young people and children, the book is made very colorfully and has some native american symbols as well.
I design the book cover and layout, however, I also work on illustration and finding information with Drew.
Below is the book cover design that I did.
