About Today was the end of year project year two. The concept behind About Today was friendship,memory, family and that the only true permanence is impermanence. I wanted to create an animation that had a simple linear narrative, yet also had elements that were still open to interpretation. I also wanted to combine some elements of photography and digital drawing.  I shot each scene/action from storyboard in stills but composed it as if was shooting film/video then created single frame digital line drawings of each shot and overlayed. The music from the National I picked very early on in the project, its lyrics  touched on some of the themes I was hoping to illustrate and the rhythm help to inform the visual style.
