Art of Jeff Haynie

 My background is in commercial illustration. From bookcovers, magazine editorial work to advertising clients.  In the 90's I moved into the entertainment industry working for DreamWorks Interactive in Los Angeles, CA. This was my introduction into entertainment design and game production. Over the years I've had the opportunity to work for some great game companies such as EA games, THQ, Midway games, Blizzard and Big Fish Games.

This was a fun project called "This is Vegas". I got to design luxury resort hotels and casinos. I designed the exterior, the interior, casino floor and club. It was based on the Luxor but with a Mayan theme. To see more of my hotel and casino concept design go to : Mayan concept work

I worked as the senior art director at Big Fish Games. This is a set of final paintings and concepts for Hidden Expedition: Smithsonian Hope Diamond game. Finished artwork game screen. I built the Smithsonian castle in 3d then did a painting on top. 
Finished artwork game screen. This is the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I built it in Maya, rendered the lighting with no textures. Then did a painting on top. 
Concept painting for the India level for Hidden Expedition Hope Diamond game. The player would get to decorate the elephant before getting on and riding into the next level.
As the senior art director at Big Fish Games, I was in charge of the art for Mystery Case Files projects. These projects are hidden object adventure games. It was some of the most exciting projects that I have worked on. The team was a rockstar group with amazing artists, programmers and one of the best designer in the industry, Adrian Woods. All of our projects were best seller, award winning games. This painting for Mystery Case Files:13th skull was selected as a 2011 Into the Pixel award winner.

Puzzle design and painting for Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst. I built this in Maya and Zbrush.
Another project that was a blast to work on was Hidden Expedition: Amazon. This is the key concept painting to develop the overall look and feel of the project. 
Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove was another project in the series. This is the key concept painting for the main villian in the game. This was published in Spectrum 16.

Mystery Case Files: Madame Fate, another hidden object game, was about a creepy canival owner named Madame Fate. The player meets and inspects a wild cast of side show characters to find out which one is planning to murder her at midnight. You race against the clock to stop the crime.
