Hoot n' Whistle- Over the phone, my Grandfather told me he wanted a hollowed out tree-trunk for his Model Train Set, and I described to him how this could be accomplished. However, he was unfamiliar with some of the tools and processes I was describing. I emailed him this sketch a little while after our conversation. 

This bench will be a gift for my cousin, as a wedding, housewarming and baby shower gift. The piece will be sized to the entry way to their home seen lower left. 

Although I have an overall method for how this Bench will be constructed; there is still much detail to be decided upon. Here I'm visualizing different board layouts for the top surface. 

 

Exploring different material and joinery methods. 

 Plans for drafting surface for my studio desk. On a Sunday morning, I browsed online for drafting surfaces that would go onto an existing desk, but couldn't find the "right" one, nor did I want to wait several days for shipping. This was made from an 8 .25" piece of ash left over from a previous project a few hours after giving up the online search. No glue was used in its construction as I wanted to maintain the option to re-locate my studio space.
