I have been carving signs since 1976. I am considered a traditional wood carver since I carve with knives, chisels, and gouges. Depending on the project I will incorporate whatever tool I have at my disposal to remove the bulk of the waste.  I layout all my projects, signs and sculpture, by hand. I do not use computer carving machines. Unless otherwise specified I design my own lettering fonts to suit the sign I am working on. I carve in either natural wood or a man made carving media (HDU), depending on my client's requirements.
