-Freshman Music Performance Major (French Hornist)
-Studies and rehearses in the morning (wakes up at 7:30 AM every day)
-Studies two times more in college than she did in high school
-Procrastinator
Interpretations
When we met Taylor, we were amazed to realize that she, along with many other music students,
considers time spent rehearsing in practice rooms to be studying. This is significant because, contrary
to popular belief, not all study methods involve utilizing paper and pen. Instead, study habits and the
definition of “studying” vary from person to person, acknowledging that we all have unique characteristics
when it comes to academic preparation.
Killian

-He “has” to like reading, as it’s a crucial aspect of his studies
-Frequently attends Study Stop sessions
-Procrastinator
-Currently enrolled in 13 credit hours
-Prefers traditional studying tools as opposed to electronic ones
-Thought high school was harder than college
Interprations
When we met Killian, we were amazed to learn that he considered high school to be more difficult
than his college studies. This is significant because he believes that his lack of credit hours has directly
affected his motivation to complete assignments at the college level. He went on to explain that he had
more freedom to select his classes in college, which was a gargantuan change from taking five Advanced
Placement courses in high school. Since he has more free time due to his below-average number of
credit hours, his drive to finish projects has taken a shot.

Interpretations
When we met Shalea, we were amazed to learn that she didn't study in high school. This is significant because she now that she is in college she puts in over 15 hours per week. As of now, she studies in the mornings but we asked her if she could change her study schedule she would change it so that she could study in between classes but considering her schedule, she doesn't have the time to do that.

For instance, she stated that she noticed that the teachers in China generally pushed and motivated students harder personally than they do here which is also something that she would like the university to change.
