The Light Between The Trees
[Pt. I | Sunrise]
Tragen lasse ich mich, nicht anders als Du und die anderen, doch nicht vom Glauben oder eines anderen Hände, sondern dem Licht zwischen den Bäumen an einem Februarmorgen, dem Klang geschriebener Worte, dem Gefühl lebenslanger Einsamkeit.
During my last travel for the purpose of landscape photography, I also had planned to visit a few different forests. Some of them I already knew, some others were new to me. Originally, I prefer to photograph forests and trees mostly with mist. This time, even with a few days of waiting involved, the weather didn’t pan out as I had hoped for. Fortunately, I still gave it a chance with different conditions, and soon found out that these are indeed also worth to photograph, and worth of trying to get better with photography. It might be more difficult than shooting in mist, but the more intense colouring and the play of light and shadow really seemed nice. This series is about these attempts, and there well be about two or three different parts of it in total. To kick it off, it actually started with this certain place. I spent the night nearby, had hoped for mist but instead it was a mostly clear sunrise. At the beginning, I didn’t want to give it a go because two other photographers showed up (usually, I don’t even go nearby then). For whatever reason, I did, and was fortunate that they both were focusing on completely different stuff than I was. Truth is, that made me really happy, and I started to think different about my previous practice of treescapes.
