Painted Great Lakes Cloudscapes
I have been working on an actual oil painting of his scene this month but have been struggling with the interpretation in this style influenced by the Group of Seven painters. So, I created these full color digital studies as a guide and they are now evolving into a finished digital series in their own right. There is something so Michigan about these clouds that I was looking to capture.
Symphony of the Sky Over Grand Haven
A variation of the view from Grand Haven in late September as autumn is approaching. Each digital study develops an idea that is in progress as a painting. This concept series began with my work called M-57 Blues in 2022.
