Lego Star Trek: Campaign

BRIEF
Lego's large group of fans have been calling for Star Trek merchandise! They want the ability to have something related to the show on their shelves like Lego's other brands, such as Star Wars, DC and Marvel. As both a die-hard lego fan and a fan of Star Trek, I decided to create what I think a Lego Star Trek brand would look like. To take it one step further I thought about how I would advertise and brand Star Trek to both a modern audience as well as children who might be looking for something new, or want to know more about Star Trek.

WHAT DID I DO?
I therefore started to take inspiration from the 60's show, such as the colours, typography and the way in which the characters looked on screen. I then would translate this into the Lego world, creating several new pieces so that it looked like something that would exist in this Lego world.

OUTCOMES
My outcome would be a whole Lego Star Trek brand such as the main characters from the 66 series, as well as promotional fun stuff such as gifs, posters, stickers and a complete mini figure series
Here I started sketching out the main characters from the 66 Star Trek series, sketching out several new pieces for certain characters, but most importantly referring back to the show characters and how they looked on screen.
Once I completed that I then started to add colour onto them, using the costumes as reference for this and then making a drop shadow to capture the effect of a real minifigure.
For people who might not know these characters or haven't ever watched Star Trek, I added the names of the characters next to the minifigure to help educate the new fans.
I then played around with Gifs, thinking about how I would like these things to animate on both a website and other social media platforms such as Instagram.
To attract young children to this new brand I created some stickers inspired by the characters in the show. I thought this would not only be a fun thing for children to play around with, but to almost show them what certain characters do such as Scotty working on the ship and Bones working on cures and potions.
I then played around with the stickers and turned them into Gifs, but this time diving into what these characters do on the show.
Here I created a poster which would be used to promote the Lego Star Trek brand. I played with the quote which is a play on words from what the original line which was 'Where no one has gone before' and I changed it to play with the theme of Lego which now reads 'Where no brick has gone before'.
Here I created a T-shirt design which would be the same for each character.
