Design Promotional Cards
My main focus for these postcards was to reflect the program’s three main parts: Interaction, Communication, and Information Design. I aimed to keep the design and color palette friendly and inviting for high school students transitioning to university. Each design features elements inspired by the school’s architecture, particularly the Victor Dahdaleh Building. Additionally, I included a sun to symbolize the welcoming atmosphere of the design program for first-year students. Depicting an “I” thinking icon represents the design thinking process, emphasizing a designer’s perspective.

For the Interaction Design postcard, I utilized shapes and elements from the design program Figma, including specific icons and the way Figma displays objects when hovered over. I also incorporated prototyping arrows to indicate user direction.

For the Communication Design postcard, I depicted simple 2D shapes and included icons representing Illustrator and similar programs.

The final postcard represents Interaction Design, showcasing a system using various shaped and colored circles to visually communicate information in a modern way.

In conclusion, I feel I properly represented each main part of York University’s Design program while keeping it fun, innovative, welcoming, and creative.
