Student Motion & Form is an information poster design that visualizes a students movement through the SCAD Graphic Design Department in Atlanta, GA. The assignment was to visualize what we thought, as students, was important about the Graphic Design Department and what SCAD-Atl had to offer. For me, the most impressive and important aspect of being a student at SCAD is the modeling of the individual. Through the courses offered a student begins to take shape and forms into the designer they will become. We are ever evolving, ever changing, and it is those influences around us that ultimately shape us.

RESEARCH & INSPIRATION

 

I did a lot of research for this project. The main sourse of my inspiration was platonic solids. I read the philosophy behind each shape, learned about their structures. 

 

The shape I decided to use in the design is the icosahedron. Plato assigned the icosahedron with the element of water, ever changing, ever flowing.
