Wooden Toy Car
I was tasked to design and make a stylized wooden toy car that is the maximum size constraints as 200mm long, 120mm wide and 120mm high. it is a must for the wheels to move.
Research
Ideation
The inspiration behind these ideas were race cars and SUV family cars
Development
I learned that making a family car would be so difficult so I opted to make a small two seater car that has race car features.
Manufacture
I glued four layers of wood together to have one big bulk of wood then started drawing the side view of my car as of measurement. i then cut the drawn shape of the car and sanded it after doing that i drew the detail parts of my car the shaped wood and used a Dremel and finger sander to get the details looking right.
Decal Design
These are the decal stickers that I chose and I will be putting on my wooden car.
Outcome
What I learnt while making this toy car is wood does not come out the way you wanted it or the way you expected so it very important to add little more to your measurements for when they are any mistakes then you can easily sand it off. the process of making this projects was not as easy as I thought it would be because wood glue takes time to dry and i was getting impatient.
