KHILADI KIDS
Bridging the gap between traditional Indian games and Urban Indian kids.
In today's fast-paced digital age, children often lack exposure to vital interpersonal and community-building skills due to time constraints. To address this issue, I conceptualized a project aimed at leveraging the social, mental, and physical benefits of traditional Indian games, historically crafted for children's holistic development.
The center-piece of this project is 'Khiladi Kids- A Traditional Indian Games Handbook for Urban Indian Kids,' integrated into school curricula to provide a gadget-free environment for children to engage themselves in playing traditional Indian games. The handbook employs vibrant colours and captivating illustrations to enhance its appeal to children. It serves as a comprehensive guide, illustrating how to play each game effectively.
I also developed a tailored questionnaire within the handbook, allowing children to self-assess their experiences with the games, reflect on interactions with peers, and identify personal strengths and weaknesses. This not only promotes the rediscovery of traditional games but also fosters self-awareness and social skills development among children in urban settings.
THANK YOU!
