In September 2022, I traveled to Hatay and conducted interviews and took photographs with the people I met there. Hatay impressed me with its historical and cultural richness. I saw people from different religions living together like friends, which reminded me of my hometown, Baku. I admired Hatay for its culture, nature, clean air, delicious food, and beautiful people. A few months later, the earthquake saddened me deeply. I tried to reach out to the people I had communicated with, but they didn't answer the phone. After a few days, I learned that some of them were alive. It has been a year since then. I hope both Hatay and other cities recover soon, and people return to their homes. I hope that one day Hatay will return to its old beautiful days.
