After having a lecture of different poses and where they came from throughout art history, it made me realise that it’s not only objects that symbolise meanings. My tutor wasn’t sure this was the right direction to head in but I was curious to see what I could find. 

Discovering that poses I’ve been seeing throughout my visits to galleries actually have significant meanings was a satisfying revelation. 

My favourite part of this research was about the ‘pudica pose’ as it was always frustrating for me that women in art are constantly covering themselves but men always stand proud and unashamed. 

This page is slightly unrelated to the research above it as it isn’t a full body pose however it ended up being the most intriguing for me. I ended up spotting it everywhere.
