Postage Stamps: Paws with a Cause
In this project students were to select an organization that supports a specific cause and create a set of postage stamps that relayed a key aspect of that cause. The organization I chose was Paws with a Cause, which is an organization that trains and pairs dogs with disabled individuals in order to ease the difficulties of their life.
Thumbnail Sketches
In the brainstorming part of this project, I created two sets of thumbnail sketches, each set in response to a specific theme of the organization. The dogs can do a wide variety of helpful tasks from opening doors to pulling out money from an ATM, but another major aspect of this organization is that these dogs provide people with companionship. Dealing with physical and mental disabilities can be very stressful and lonely and these dogs can provide great emotional support.
Final Set of Stamps
I decided to highlight the overarching theme of companionship in my postage stamps. I used key elements like the paw and hand print to maintain consistency and used the colors in the actual logo of Paws with a Cause for my color palette.
