Still Life
This project is an exercise of the still life. As I baked cookies, I decided to make a layout like you might see in a cookbook or a food blog.

This first draft image is good and shows great texture of the cookies. The background and most of the plate are completely out of focus, but the image is taken up by so much of the cookies that we almost miss out on what they actually are. More of the environment is necessary.
The final image of cookies on a blue plate with a towel.
This final image of the cookies achieves what the first image was lacking in. The cookies exist in an environment and not as a monstrosity taking up space. The cookies really only take over 50% of the image, but the plate and the towel give them more power.
