Final Game: Doodle Jump
I created doodle jump for my final project because growing up it was my favorite game to play. I loved the way that the game was so simple but just never got old for me. For this project I was really trying to explore pixel art and coding the graphics into the game in a natural way. Doodle Jump was the inspiration for my game, and I tried to make it similar to it.
I started out by hello worlding this project, first making a ball bounce and then move side to side using the keys while bouncing. Then I added platforms for the ball to bounce off of. Next I created the enemies that spawned and died after being hit. At this point I also had the character able to shoot to kill the enemies. I had three states in this project, the start screen, game screen, and lose screen. They transition based on the buttons clicked and outcomes of the game.
