Starry Night is a shelf made to fit onto the side of dorm room beds with the hidden feature of a wireless charger. This project is supposed to make charging your wireless devices easier at night and more convenient for the student since it is attached to their bed. This project utilizes 3d Printing, Woodworking, and Vinyl Cutting for the three methods of fabrication required.

For User Testing, I asked 4 Berry College students about the design, performance, and function of Starry Night. Below are the thoughts and results of my User Testing:

Alec Ortiz

-Alec liked the idea of this project because of its applications to help students charge their devices easier, and also like the sticker on the top for the aesthetic effect. However, Alec commented that this project really isn't that helpful because students could have something similar or just charge their phone on the bed with them. 

Halsey Bosart

- Halsey said that he really liked the idea of this project because he has a lofted bed and doesn't really have anywhere to put his phone safely at night to where it will not fall off the bed. However, Halsey said that the overall appearance of the shelf is not as nice as a shelf he could get from an online source and therefore might not use the shelf.

Audrey Stafford

- Audrey helped me test the ability of the shelf for this project before the project was even finished. She liked that it hung onto the side of her bed and that the charger was a cool touch to throw into a otherwise normal shelf. However, she did voice her negatives that since she doesn't have a lofted bed, she just charges her phone on the desk instead of near her bed. 

Tyler Wengronowitz

-Tyler really liked the idea of having another charger for his phone or airpods in his room because he said that you can never have enough chargers in your life. His critique of this project is the outside applications of it, meaning that can other people who don't have the exact same dorm beds use this device.
