Needs of the Design

Hip dysplasia is most prevalent in large dogs, with symptoms manifesting as mild to severe degenerative joint disease in young dogs. This condition often causes pain, leading to inconvenient movement, necessitating the use of assistive aids for walking and rehabilitation. This highlights the importance of assistive aids for dogs with limb disabilities. Additionally, the accuracy of measurements and adjustments of animal-related wearable aids significantly affects their safety and comfort.

After testing the feasibility of every institution, we plan to combine a simple linkage structure with a gas spring, helping owners to support the bodies of their pets.

VIGOR combines a simple linkage structure with a gas spring, helping owners to support the bodies of their pets. Breaking away from the traditional heavy assistive aids, the design combines lightweight structure and a body-shaped cushion, not only improving comfort but also reducing pain caused by hip joint issues, which enables large dogs to regain youthful activity even in their old age.

VIGOR以簡易連桿結構結合氣壓棒，輔助主人支撐起家中大型犬隻的身軀，跳脫以往傳統輔具，以輕量化結構緩和其因髖關節不良所帶來的不適並輔助其行走，並輔以更透氣材質坐墊提高舒適度，讓大型犬隻即便年長仍能找回年輕時的步伐。

The design uses a gas spring to break away from the traditional heavy assistive aids. With a slight up and down of the dog's hind legs, the gas spring enables the dog to stand up or sit down effortlessly.

Body-shaped cushion with internal padding that conforms to the contour of the dog's body, ensuring it stays in place and provides comfort.

Simple detachable function enables user to take off the cushion to wash or change easily.
