From Then 'til Now

As I was strongly influenced by the Swinging Sixties and Mary Quant for this collection, it seemed only right to take some 60's inspiration for the photoshoot. It was a super fun shoot to work on, and we had a great (and suitably swinging) soundtrack blasting from the speakers.
A lot of the collection was made from upcycled and deadstock fabric (much of which came from my own personal supply). Some of the upcycled/repurposed fabrics I used included a blanket I bought from a Swedish charity shop and several dresses bought from vintage shops.
I also made the knitted garments from "pre-consumer industrial waste". When blankets are made, the leftover selvedges are usually discarded, but that seems like such a waste of good quality wool. I used these strips, strung together, to make a super chunk, soft, and warm yarn.
