Revamping Kiosk Sign-In
We streamlined the kiosk sign-in process for restaurants, focusing on user experience (UX). Our goal: fewer steps, clearer instructions, and a faster, more enjoyable experience. We identified pain points like complexity and eliminated them, aiming for a seamless journey that aligns with modern hospitality. This fosters ease of use and leaves a positive impression for diners.

Problem
The current user experience at the kiosk presents a notable challenge for users attempting to log in. One of the primary pain points lies in the confusion during the login process by the presence of a QR code on the sign-in screen. Users are finding it difficult to discern the purpose of the QR code and its relevance to their login journey. Additionally, locating their loyalty card in the mobile app is an obstacle. The lack of clarity and intuitive design in these key areas contributes to frustration and impedes the seamless user interaction that is essential for an efficient and satisfying experience.
Existing flow
Goal
Simplify the sign-in screen, and improve the scan code screen both at the kiosk. On the mobile app, make the loyalty card easier to find. The suggestion was to add a “Loyalty card” floating button on the home screen for easy and quick access.
Design concepts
To address user needs, I designed a new user journey with screens and a prototype for usability testing, ensuring a more streamlined experience.

User testing

Goal
The user testing aims to validate the effectiveness of the new concept of the kiosk sign-in process and the accessibility of the loyalty card feature on the mobile app's home screen. It seeks to ascertain user comprehension, ease of navigation, and overall satisfaction with these key updates, ensuring they meet user needs seamlessly.

Scenario
The user will be asked to imagine being at a favorite fast-food restaurant and wanting to order food through the KIOSK self-service system. The user is part of the loyalty program and wants to sign in at the KIOSK, using your mobile app, to earn points on your next order.

Results
5 out of 5 participants found the entire sign-in flow to be very easy. 
4 out of 5 participants agreed that the arrow icon perfectly symbolizes the action "Continue without signing in." 
4 out of 5 participants expressed that the added steps on the sign-in screen are highly intuitive and anticipate the user's next actions effectively. 
5 out of 5 participants reported that locating the loyalty card was extremely straightforward.

Conclusion
The user testing results underscore the success of the redesigned sign-in flow and mobile app interface. With unanimous agreement on the ease of the sign-in process and the seamless discovery of the loyalty card, it's evident that the enhancements have greatly improved user experience. The incorporation of intuitive steps and clear visual cues, such as the arrow icon, not only facilitates navigation but also anticipates user actions effectively. These findings validate the efficacy of the updates, affirming their ability to streamline interactions and enhance user satisfaction significantly.​​​​​​​
