UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

Meet Sunset is a quaint hostel situated by the serene Nam Khan river in Luang Prabang, Laos. Surrounded by hills and mountains, this UNESCO World Heritage town is littered with beautiful traditional buildings interweaved with majestic palaces and Buddhist temples.

The hostel has recently changed hands, and the new owners have big plans for its renovation, highlighting the hostel's strategic location.
OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

Meet Sunset strives to be a place of fun and rest for thrifty backpackers and experienced globetrotters alike, and the logo had to reflect a contemporary and inviting flair.

The client wanted to have a variation that stayed true to the style and colors of the old logo. Below are some concepts and explorations of the logo that kept in mind the integrity of the original whilst playing around with adding and subtracting different concepts.
EVOKING THE GOLDEN HOUR

The selected logo represents a natural progression from the original design, retaining key elements while incorporating new features. The choice of colors and symbols strives to capture the essence of a sunset, reflecting the peaceful atmosphere of dusk. Drawing inspiration from its picturesque surroundings – nestled by a river amidst rolling hills and mountains – the logo paints a complete picture of the environment.

Moreover, it serves as an ideal visual complement to "Meet Sunset" – a concept centered around unwinding and gathering as the sun sets, culminating a day filled with adventure and sharing tales of travel.

Manrope was chosen as its versatile typeface for both header and body text.

THE BRAND IN USE

The client needed to issue a boat pass that allows guests to cross the Nam Khan river, easing travel into the town's center.

Another example of possible usage could be a keycard for entry into the hostel, coupled with a QR code that leads to the website.
