May Sharks, a comic I'm currently working on.

May Sharks is about a boy who befriends a strange talking shark. The two have a lot of fun with each other but are soon faced with the consequences of their actions.

This is a small sample of the comic.

I came to start writing the story after doodling in my journal. It was May, and as some artists know, that means it's time to draw mermaids and/or other sea creatures. For context, an art challenge was created, by animator Tom Bancroft, to draw mermaids throughout the month, and post them with "#MerMay." Anyways, I made the story for fun and to get more experience for storytelling and comic book making.

This character's name is Gil, and he is the shark the protagonist, Joseph, befriends. He's adventurous, social, caring, and a little mischievous.

My goal is to finish the story and publish it May 2024. It will be posted on a website called Heart Shine Creations.
