The Hidden Tree

Introduction
A paper lamp shade that features a tree design hidden behind an abstract series of paper strips. The idea was to create a translucent effect using normal and sketching paper.
The paper strips are positioned in a scattered orientation which creates the abstract effect.
The lamp has a cylindrical shape so that the design inside can be seen from all angles.

Gained inspiration from the lamps produced by ‘Trirocks’.

Design Process
To create the outer layer, cut an A3 page diagonally with 1 cm distance between each cut.
Draw and cut out inner design.
