The Main Idea:
Our goal is to create a map using Adobe Illustrator with a limited color pallet. The design must use up to six large icons and be supplemented with at least two smaller icons to act as filler. I was drawn to mapping out the extensive journey of The Odyssey because it could communicate a sense of movement within the map, and the numerous monsters in the text made for prime icon ideas.
My color scheme of choice consisted of oceanic teal, grapevine purple, plum red, and pure white. Black and bright red were introduced in the planning stage but later removed to simplify the colors.
As an extra design element I elected to create a patterned background for the water and a Greek inspired border.
